Book Type: Fiction - Romantic Comedy This week I'm sharing my exclusive author interview with the talented J.G. Dow, author of the romantic comedy, Jane of Manchester- enjoy! My name is James Tingle (J.G. Dow pen name) I live in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and like walking, reading, writing and a bit of socialising on the weekend and love curry! I knew I wanted to be a writer when I started writing poetry about ten years ago and slowly moved on to prose. I published my first book, a sci-fi type thing, on kindle and went from there! The biggest challenge as an author is probably keeping faith that one day you'll have a decent readership I suppose. Most rewarding is just the process of writing and the joy of a novel coming into being, so to speak. A daily habit would be to make sure you at least write something, even if not that much- feels like the day's not wasted then. My advice to an aspiring author would be stick at it and make sure you really enjoy doing it, otherwise it becomes hard work and should really be fun if done right. I am most grateful for family. If I could give my 18 year old self advice it would be work harder and waste less time. My favourite thing about being a writer is creating little worlds on the page. My least favourite thing about being a writer is editing! My goals for the future are trying to get as many readers as possible. I love living a creative life because it transcends the ordinary. The last book I read was The Sunset Limited by Cormac McCarthy. My favourite book ever is Catcher in the Rye or A Confederacy of Dunces. Outside of writing, my favourite hobby is music. The most important thing to achieve your goals is want them enough. You can find Jane of Manchester on Goodreads and Amazon and there is a Facebook page, J.G. Dow@homeofJane. Hope everyone likes the book!
